In 1999 five financial security advisors, all of whom had distinguished careers with The Canada Life Assurance Company collaborated to open an office to house several independent brokers who pool their resources and experiences to better provide their clients with a holistic solution to financial planning. The year marked a change in the financial services industry as companies demutualized and changed the form of distribution for life and investment products. This group of advisors saw this change as an opportunity and following the logo for Canada Life chose the name The Pelican Group.

For the last 14 years The Pelican Group office has provided service and advice to their existing client base as independent insurance and financial advisors . As independent advisors, they are able to broker between numerous insurance and financial companies to find the right individual products for their clients.
